AT&T National Winner – Tiger Woods!

Friday, June 5th, 2009

Last year, Anthony Kim showed on exceptional performance at the AT&T National, winning with ease.

This year, Anthony Kim comes really close, playing with Tiger Woods in the final group of the final round.

Notables include Hunter Mahan, who shot an incredible 62 today to finish before the final groups at 12 under.

As I did predicted during the 3rd round of the AT&T National, this tournament really came down to Tiger Woods and Anthony Kim.  And I did say Tiger probably will have an edge over the last finishing holes, where he did make birdies to gain lead in the tournament.

My prediction for AT&T National earlier today also became true, as Tiger had an edge over the last couple holes of “pressure” golf.  I think Anthony Kim has come a long ways, especially during the 9-month period that Tiger was going through his knee surgery but I think he still has a long ways to go before beating Tiger head-to-head.

Of course, don’t forget Hunter Mahan, he’s been shooting awfully low scores at many tournaments.  I think every time I turn on my TV, Hunter Mahan is shooting a 62 or 63.  I am sure he will win many tournaments.

One thing is for sure, Tiger Woods is certainly back after winning 3 tournaments already this year.  It will be harder to beat him as Tiger plays more tournaments and I think he’s still not 100%, something seriously to worry about for other PGA Tour players.

I am sure Anthony Kim will beat Tiger Woods in stroke play one day though.  When that day comes, Tiger will have a good challenger to compete with.

Overall, I think everyone did a great job here, there’s a lot of veterans who are at the AT&T National this week, something I haven’t seen before.  Interesting to note that people were applauding for a war hero who was on his wheelchair as the final group walked up the 18th hole.

Congrats to Tiger Woods on his comeback 2009 and winning the 2009 AT&T National!

Arnold Palmer Invitational Jason Gore at the Top 5 Under!

Friday, March 27th, 2009

jason-gore

Jason Gore is leading at the 2009 Arnold Palmer Invitational at 5 under par while Tiger struggled to a 2 under par with a double-bogey in the round.

It’s too early to tell if Jason Gore can hold on to the lead this weekend, nevermind even Friday but one thing for sure, I think Tiger has a chance at winning this tournament.

Other notables include Tim Herron, who finished at 4 under while Nick Watney finished at 3 under.

Of course, there’s many other notable players near the top so it will be very interesting to see who is playing their best golf this weekend.

My Predictions?

Well, Stuart Appleby is looking pretty good too but my bet will have to be either Nick Watney or Tiger Woods.  I have a pretty good predicament on this game of golf so let’s see if I can turn out right this weekend.

Martin Laird and Bob Heintz in the lead at Wyndham Championship!

Thursday, August 14th, 2008

Martin Laird and Bob Heintz are both in the lead at Wyndham Championship on the PGA Tour.

Both pros shot a whopping 7-under 63s on Sedgefield Country Club with par of 70.

Bob Heintz actually was at 8-under until the last hole where he scored a bogey.

Other notables include Scott McCarron at 5-under par, Zach Johnson at 4-under par, and David Love III at 4-under par.

From purely scoring point, tour players seem to be having an easy time on this golf course after weeks of hard golf on U.S. Open, British Open, and the PGA Championship.

Of course, a lot of big-name pros are missing this week probably due to the fact that the end of the year is near.

It’s still terrible too early to tell who will win this week, at least Bob Heintz and Marin Laird got their low scores in today.

In the meanwhile, we will do some swing analysis of Martin Laird and Bob Heintz to see who has a better swing.
