LPGA has just announced a new rule that requires all LPGA members(players) to speak English.  Players who cannot communicate in English will be suspended.

Here’s a funny quote:

“Being a US-based tour, and with the majority of our fan base, pro-am contestants, sponsors and participants being English speaking, we think it is important for our players to effectively communicate in English,” Galloway said.

Now, I must disagree with this US-based fans.  LPGA is not simply for Americans it’s really for the world to see.

If LPGA “thinks” its viewers mainly consist of English speaking people, think again please as a big portion of LPGA viewers also come from Korea, Sweden, and other home countries of LPGA players.

I personally know about a thousand people who watch the LPGA in Korea around 3am simply because of the time difference.

What LPGA really need to do is fire the person who made this stupid rule that is simply prejudice from my standpoint and my upbringing in the United Stated after having moved here at age of nine.

To whoever decided to make this stupid rule that is obviously prejudice against players from non-English speaking countries:

If you simply cannot stand all the Swedes and Korean stars that are taking over the LPGA, quit your job and do something else but don’t tell me you are going to stump on some of the best international LPGA players’ faces by telling them you can’t play if you can’t speak English.  Don’t waste my fuckin’ time with you bullshit rules, this isn’t golf this is prejudice bitches.  Sorry to be brutally honest but you were being brutally prejudice.

I can tell you that I know this hurts international players more than anything else as English wasn’t my first language either.

Anytime you want to single out a group of race or people, think about this first, “What if I was one of them, would I want to be treated like this?”

It’s a perfectly clear prejudice of another person simply based on where he/she is from, not who he/she is.

This form of prejudice must be stopped in any professional golf or sporting event.

My great peaceful life was going great until this morning I heard this, and I have to say this unjust rule must be gone very quickly.  Stupid LPGA officials, that’s what I say.

For now, we will have to wait and see what Florida laws say about discrimination based on someone’s LANGUAGE for god sakes:

But if Korea’s most famous female player was broadly supportive, some civil liberties activists in the US claimed a language requirement could violate state law. “Florida law prohibits discrimination in public accommodations,” said Howard Simon, executive director of the American Civil Liberties Union in Florida. “They may well violate Florida discrimination laws because language is a key element of person’s national origin. People should be judged on their ability to perform a job. English fluency has no more to do with the ability to play 18 holes of golf than whether you walk 18 holes or ride 18 holes.”

Here’s a funny site that explains the definitions and how to play “urban golf”.

It sounds like a lot of fun, maybe it will pick up some speed among the urbanists.

Remember, if you have a job that allows you to sit around a lot and you have plenty of space, I recommend you do it and hit that ball really far.

SensoGlove Monitors your grip pressure and may help you become a better golfer!

One of the biggest challeges in golf is that you need to keep your grip pressure at about the same level during the course of your whole swing.  Now, I can do that simply through training and light hands but if you need more help, the SensoGlove might do a perfect job of it.  This SensoGlove will alert you for how stable your grip pressure is throughout your swing.

It looks like your standard white leather golf glove until you notice the small computer with the LCD display on the back. This computer uses various sensors that are strategically placed throughout the glove to measure your grip on the club while you swing. Audio feedback lets you know when your grip has become too tight, while I assume the club flying out of your hand lets you know when your grip is not tight enough. The LCD also provides a visual indication of which fingers are gripping the club too tightly, and you can even adjust the sensitivity depending on what level of grip is right for you.

John Daly has been one of my favorite golfers of all time. Although he may do outrageous things like getting too drunk, that’s not my concern and his still my hero for being one of the most unique golfers in history.

What most people to realize is that John Daly does not “Grip and Rip”, he actually has one of the best rhythms out of all the pro golfers. The “Grip and Rip” really refers to really going up to the ball and emptying his mind.

Even if you look at his driver swings carefully, you will realize how great his overall swing rhythm is. It’s probably as almost as good as Freddy Couples, but it’s hard to see due to his long backswing.

I even read John’s Grip and Rip It, it’s a great book in which he discusses the details of how he plays golf.

What to learn from John Daly?

Well, he does use a “trigger” type grip in which his right index finger is gripping the club like holding a gun trigger. Btw, . Greg Norman use to touch his index finger with his thumb. (I think he still does…)

Both these methods are trivial to the onlooker but they do great job of keeping your right hand out of your swing. You can experiment and see if it works for you as I have used it before with good success as I tend to use my right hand too much too.
