Camilo Villegas wins the Tour Championships to finish the 2008 PGA Tour in style.  What seemed like a bad bogey on 16th hole was recovered with a remarkable birdie on the 17th hole by Camilo.

That makes it 2 wins in the last 2 starts, the last time that someone won 2 consecutive tournaments was over 10 years ago.

What makes it interesting is that Camilo was able to beat all the best players in the world with his A+ game on Sunday yet again.

I feel very sorry for Sergio Garcia, who I believe has more talent but talent and luck must come together on the last day for someone to win.

Make sure to check out our swing analysis on Camilo Villegas too.

The news around the block is that Greg Norman might be able to win this year’s British Open if he only believed in himself again.

The former British Champion, Greg Norman, is 1 off the lead by shooting an even par today.

I believe Greg Norman has couple majors that the golfing world owes him.  At numerous majors, Greg Norman either got struck by lightening (metaphor here that is) or he simply gave it to the guy standing next to him.

I thought Greg Norman would have won many more majors if he only believed in himself again.

I mean for like 10 years or so, he was the shark.  Perhaps, Tigers do scare away sharks but come on.

It’d be like my dream come true if Greg Norman could win the Open this weekend at age 53.

Maybe that’s just my speculation but what the heck, Greg deserve one for sure.

In Bee Park - Korean Golfer Wins Women\'s US Open!

It’s not that often a 19 year old wins a U.S. Open, except that InBee Park just did it.

She’s a 19 year old Korean American who has won many other events including 2 U.S. Girls Open in 2002 and 2003, a feat matched only by likes of Tiger Woods.

I did notice her name couple years back but it looks like she has finally broken through by winning a major.

As for female Korean professional golfers, they now now have won 3 of the last 10 U.S. Opens, making them second in the number of U.S. Opens won next to the American ladies in the last 10 years.

Not a bad feat as a whole but the real question is, “why are Korean women golfers winning a LOT?”

What do I mean is that you look at the leaderboard of any LPGA tournament and you will see at least 1 or 2 Korean golfers at the top.

If you ask me, I can tell you that Korean women have always been genetically good at sports that require aiming.  Other than that, they do have rigurous golf schools designed to bring new professional athletes in Korea.  They don’t even have to go to school really, they just play golf all day long.  Now, I don’t think that’s the best way to raise a kid but if your kid’s winning LPGA tournaments at age 19, that’s not bad either.

Heck, I thought Michelle Wie was going to be women’s Tiger Woods.   Maybe she will one day but at this moment, all attention goes to In Bee Park, winner of this year’s U.S. Open and well deserved.

Nick Price Driver Swing Analysis

I remember seeing Nick Price for the first time on TV, his hair used to stick up all the time a lot more than most other tour pros.  Anyways, I have always been a big fan of Nick Price since the 90s, let’s look at how his swing is.

Btw, he’s a student of David Leadbetter, so he swings on the yellow plane. (We will have to term the yellow plane swingers as 90s swingers.  I also have been guilty of practicing the yellow plane for about 10 years of my life but that’s the 90s, let’s focus on the true swing plane here)

At halfway back, Nick does the perfect match with the yellow plane.  I’d rather see him more outside near the red plane.

At the top, Nick does get back on to the plane.

Surprisingly, Nick does come back to the yellow plane before impact.  This is actually harder to do and its only because Nick’s really good at it.  Most tour pros would come down the red plane line.

At impact, Nick is somewhat neat the red plane.

Now, a lot of pro golfers and teachers still rely on the 2-plane swing, which is combination of the yellow and the red plane.  This is too confusing and there’s too many moving parts.

If you want to swing on 1-plane swing like Tiger or Moe Norman, you will need to concentrate on getting your clubhead on one plane only.
