Check out Aaron Baddeley’s new Stack and Tilt swing. (I know, I’ve haven’t been watching TV nor read GolfDigest lately…)
If you like this post, please subscribe to the ProGolferDigest via RSS or via E-Mail to receive updates.we call it the Stack & Tilt Swing. Keeping your weight on your front foot is the simplest way to control where the club hits the ground, which is the first fundamental of hitting the ball. Golfers who shift to the right on the backswing have to make precisely the same shift back to the left by impact. That complicated maneuver is the biggest source of frustration in the game today.

I agree with getting “stacked” onto the ball but you shouldn’t have to do it un-naturally…
Anyways, the drills shown in this vid might help you, but I think it’s too confusing…honestly…

Today’s swing - The 7-iron 165 yard “Knock-down” Shot
0 Comments Published September 10th, 2007 in Golf News, Knock down shot.Click Here to View in Full Screen Mode
It’s a nice little knockdown, my swing looks horrible by the way… but a great little tool for those pressure situations.
A knock-down-shot is basically a slightly shorter backswing and shorter follow-through for distance and arc control.
Arc is the arc of the golf ball. Basically, a knock-down-shot is a knock down because the arc will be much lower than a regular full shot.
But if you can hit this shot well, it’s really easy to hit all the time…

Here’s my 3 Wood swing. I can hit it about 250yards in the air with my 3+ wood. But take a look at the finish. The lower body is nice and straight. The upper body can be a little tilted but the main thing is that I am in balance.
Today’s Tip: Try to make every one of your shots finish in perfect balance. I promise your next round will compose of much much better shots just because you tried keep in balance. This also automatically helps you not to try to hit the ball too hard.
Just don’t do this:

As you can see, the follow-through shown here is not too on-plane, but not too bad. (for playing golf for the first time in couple months…)
Anyways, the ideal follow-through is the one that will meet that yellow line. (or the plane)
This swing is actually going slightly outside-in, which was how I was hitting the ball today.
Anyways, hopefully I should be able to get my golf game together over the next couple days and get you a perfect plane shot…
In the meanwhile, you can try to “hit the right field” if you are experiencing lots of slices. For hookers? I don’t know, just stop being a hooker! :p
