Feeling the Lag!

by Max on Friday, April 8th, 2011

Last couple days of practicing, I realized one thing, that you need to really feel the “lag” on your downswing. If you can do this well, you can easily control the golf ball much better, especially being able to work it well.

I found one great exercise for learning this, that is to practice low slice shots.

Because when you hit low, slice shots or bullet slices, you need to be super accurate especially near impact. Now, when you really feel your “lag” while hitting these shots, you can really hit them good.

One more thing, make sure your wrists are cocked all the way on your backswing, even for small swings. This helps you to really release with everything you’ve got on your shot while not sacrificing distance.

These tips are really for scratch golfers though but I hope you try hitting lots of “perfect” low slice shots, it can help you get out of trouble into birdie land.
