Annika Sorenstam’s Swing

Apart from the Men’s Golf, Annika Sorenstam probably has the best swing in golf. The above animated gif is a favorite among mine that’s floating on the internet.

Click below for the full swing analysis of Annika Sorenstam and a HOWTO drill for copying her “stand-up-head-up” downswing.

This is kinda funny that pro-golfers have to use steroids!?! Well, I’d let them use it since steroids probably messes up your game more than it helps especially under those high pressure situations where you gotta sink a 2-footer to win. How’s steroid going to help you in that case? Maybe you will hit it with more confidence? LOL

The issue of steroids has finally reached the golf world. On the same day that American Floyd Landis was banned for doping and stripped of his 2006 Tour de France Title, several golf organizations signed an anti-doping policy. The policy comes after weeks of speculation of when professional golf would start taking the same steps that other professional sports were taking in tackling the problem of steroids.

Disc Golf Flash Game

Disc Golf Flash Game

You know what they say, “Work is for people who can’t play golf.” Well, too bad I still have to work, but I found this new disc golf game I can play while blogging or at work.

Are you crazy about golf? Then you gotta try this.

UTour

Wow, it’s amazing how golf is evolving especially there’s ways to turn pro virtually! Maybe I will try this route since I haven’t made to the PGA Tour yet…

SkillGround is a site where you can play original video games for cash money and prizes, and they’ve just added another game to their arsenal. UTour Golf is a realistic online golf game that will allow players to play in golf tournaments or head to head for cash winnings - or just for fun, but what’s the point of that? Knowing the ferocious competitive streak in my golfer friends, this is going to cost them a lot of money. Players will be able to chat, track stats, and join games based on their skills, from Rookie to Legend.

“UTour Golf will change the landscape of online gaming by bringing a pro golf simulation with cash play to the mass market. The game looks and feels like the real thing, and is designed to be intuitive for players of all skill levels - everyone can play and anyone can win,” said Jon Walsh, CEO of Groove Media Inc.

Before you can go out to the golf course, you should know exactly how far you hit the ball with each club in your bag under normal weather. (Such as 70 degrees fahrenheit)

If you do know, then you can expect your ball to fly a little bit further or less depending on the weather conditions.

Remember, in the cold weather, the ball will not fly as far and in hot weather, the ball will fly further.

Another thing is that in the cold weather, your ball will not stop as quickly on the greens while your ball will stop a lot more quickly in warm or hot weather.

But again, you need to know the exact yardage for each shot that you know how to hit whether that be a 1/2 swing sand wedge or full driver.

Even though specific clubs are designed for long shots and other clubs were made for shorter ones, the distance that different players can hit the very same club will vary tremendously. This is why so many beginner golfers do not get the results they want from a club that is supposed to hit the ball in a certain way.

The best way to learn specifically what you can accomplish with each is to find a large field that is big enough to handle the travel distance of your longest drive. Make sure that there are no windy conditions that day, and of course be positive that the field is empty for obvious safety reasons.
