These are kinda fun to watch…
Tiger Woods and EA have teamed up together again for the new game, “Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08. From the commercials I have seen this game looks sweet. Online play just looks like it will be more fun for the non golfer. It seems like there will be a long drive contest and a trick shot mode in the gameplay according to the commercials I have seen. This game is going to be released on Tuesday(August 26).

Emu, a big bird, apparently followed golfers during play. Well, I knew birdies like golf, maybe this one enjoyed it too much…lol
“It was strange,” McMeekin said. “She’s awful big and she made me nervous.”
Emus, natives of Australia, can grow to more than 5 feet and 100 pounds and are capable of running as fast as 30 mph.
Jeremy Behm, a golf course employee in this town between Olympia and Aberdeen, said he heard a strange sound as he was working in the pro shop around 6:30 a.m.
“I heard a noise and this crazy bird was standing right there,” Behm said.
After hanging around the pro shop for a time, the emu began following McMeekin and Bell while Behm called the Grays Harbor County sheriff’s office.
A deputy was dispatched but couldn’t immediately determine where the emu belonged. Soon afterward, the owner came from his home across the street and rounded up the bird at about 10:30 a.m., Behm said.

This is interesting, the odds of making 10 hole-in-ones in your life would be:
113,527,276,681,000,000 to 1
Since Jan. 23, the 46-year-old from Rancho Mirage, Calif., has hit 10 holes in one, or just eight fewer than were hit on the entire Ladies Professional Golf Association tour last year.
Her local paper, the Desert Sun of Palm Springs, Calif., has corroborated Ms. Gagne’s feat, running notes alongside articles from editors saying they’re just as skeptical as readers, but everything has checked out.
The paper also asked a local statistician, Michael McJilton of the College of the Desert, to compute the odds against the feat. The result, which headlined the article: 113,527,276,681,000,000 to 1. And that was after just seven aces. I asked Mr. McJilton to repeat the computation after Ms. Gagne hit three more in the following couple of weeks, over a total of just 75 rounds. He returned the astronomical number of roughly 12 septillion (12 followed by 24 zeroes) to 1. Such an unlikely event should never happen. It’s like winning the lottery four straight times. No wonder David Letterman came calling.

Here’s HOWTO practice with 1 golf ball.
Really, you will need to get a 60 degree lob wedge, put weight on your heels, hit about 1/8 inch behind the ball, then you will need to really keep steady and make a nice smooth shot with super light hands and also keep your finish short so you can get your right hand out to catch the ball.

Yes, if you have the iPhone, you can use it as a digital golf scorecard. Open up this site in your iPhone.
If you just can’t figure out how to use that pencil that comes with your golf scorecard, or your hand writing is not quite up to par, then there’s always the iPhone golf scorecard.
This application allows you to keep scores for up to four players. You simply tap the names of your foursome into your iPhone and then tap in the corresponding scores, your iPhone will take care of keeping everything nice and neat and add up your score at the end of the round.

Here’s a chip that can be mounted inside your golf ball for analyzing the speed, spin, and direction of your golf balls.
Nice… but the world is really turning into this mumbo jumbo tech bs…. We need to really stick with down-to-earth fundamentals…well for 95% of us on earth…
Regardless, this is great technological breakthrough for anyone who can break par.
A “smart” golf ball demonstrated at a consumer electronics fair in Berlin can help improve a golfer’s game by using a computer chip to reveal how fast it flies off the tee.
Developed by Germany’s Fraunhofer Institute for Reliability and Micro-integration, the e-Grain chip inside the ball can survive 200 sharp whacks from a pro golfer.
In the first five metres of its flight, it wirelessly sends information about its velocity to a display on the golfer’s bag.

Here’s a HOWTO on catching your golf ball AFTER you hit it.
1. Open the clubface so it’s pointing behind you about -10 degrees.
2. Really feel like you are sitting down.
3. Get wristy and loose with your hands.
4. Make a nice swing and catch the ball.
The key here is to hit the ‘bounce’ of the sand wedge. (Oh yes, you can use Lob wedge or Sand wedge for this shot) while making a smooth swing.
